Sports

Tennis and Education Foundation program will be offered to Carnegie students for the 2011-2012, and 2012-2013 school years. This is a free program that teaches tennis to children ages 5-8 years old.   Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade tennis teams will be created for each of the participating schools.  The teams will compete against other schools in the program twice a month on real tennis courts at XS Tennis, 1301 E. 47th St.

Flag Football

  • 5th /6th grades’ team finished 4 and 2 during the regular season
  • 7th /8th grades’ team finished 4, 1 and 1 and made it to the first round of the playoffs.

Double Dutch

  • Our 5th /6th and 7th /8th grades girls gave a fantastic effort during the Network Championship!

Cross Country

  • We competed in our Network, Regional and City Championships. Carnegie sent 13 children to the City Championship this year.

Girls Volleyball

  • 5th /6th grades girls finished the season 4 and 1. Our team made it to the Network playoff competition before being defeated.
  • 7th /8th grades girls finished the regular season undefeated for the first time ever; finishing 6 and 0. Our girls then won the Network playoffs and Championships. We are still playing for the City Playoff.

Boys 7th /8th Basketball

  • Our boys finished 1st Place Champions during the Miles Davis Basketball Tournament in November 2011. They also finished 2nd Place Champions during the Gary Comer Youth Center Basketball tournament in December 2011.
